Mysterious staircases in the Woods.

There are a number of mysterious stairs in various parts of the world, how they got there and why is quite strange. The reason these stairs are around, still baffles people.

A number of tales about these mysterious staircases have surfaced on Reddit and some of them are incredibly creepy.

Legend has it that these stairs were and still are used as sacrificial spots and when someone climbs or even touches them, they experience something rather negative, such as missing time or a crippling sense of doom.
Some people even end up dead from mysterious illnesses or end up in fatal accidents.
Apparently, people have had aneurysms from sitting on one of the steps and people have heard cackling and screams as they go past
If that isn't creepy enough, flipped staircases have also been seen in various locations in the middle of nowhere.
Whether or not these stories are true, if you came across stairs to nowhere, in the woods, would you be tempted to climb them?

When Ghost detecting goes wrong...

I can't confirm nor deny validity of this story but here it is-

I’m sure most of you have heard about the ghost detection apps that you can download to your phones and tablets.

A lot of them have an EVP function that allows the user to hear the words of the dead.

In the hands of professional paranormal investigators the apps are supposedly, useful ghost hunting tools but now every “Tom, Dick, and Harry” are downloading them, they pose a threat to those who aren’t familiar with the “Dangers” of amateur Ghost hunting as 19 year old Debbie (Family Name unknown) from Leeds in England found out.

She had downloaded the app to entertain her friend’s at a Halloween gathering at her local pub that was rumoured to be Haunted. It wasn't long before the app registered a “ghostly" presence and started saying words that were familiar to their surroundings.

Debbie’s friends started to get a little spooked and decided to call it a night, but Debbie was absolutely fascinated by her new toy and kept the app going after the night had ended. She found the app comforting. It made her feel less lonely even though she still lived with her Mother.

From the minute she awoke in mornings to the time she went to bed, she would have the app open on her phone. She had to hear every single word it generated incase it was somehow related to her actions or thoughts. Her social life dwindled as her friends grew tired of the obsession she had with the app.

After she lost her job because she could not focus on her work, her Mother forced her to delete the app. But Debbie could still hear it. She tried to to ignore it thinking it was her imagination due to it being with her for so long but she could still hear the robotic sounding voice of the app saying random words every few seconds.

After a while, the voices slowly started to take on a more human sound. It was as if someone was standing right behind her, mumbling words into her ear. Soon it became more than one voice and she couldn’t escape it no matter what she did. She began to get paranoid, felt she was being watched all the time, and didn’t undress or shower for weeks.

She tried earplugs, headphones, and making as much noise as possible- but nothing worked.

Her Mother pleaded with her to see a Doctor, but she refused in fear that they would have her committed.

The voices began to take on a more sinister tone.

She was physically and mentally exhausted by this time from lack of sleep, and couldn’t think straight anymore.

She completely snapped. Hands shaking She picked up a knitting needle from her Mother's Wool basket and forced the sharp end of it down into her ear canal.

The pain must have been excruciating.

Blood trickled down here neck but she was determined to finished the job so she thrust it down into her other ear until she couldn’t hear the voices anymore.

Her Mother rang for help when she came home to find Debbie past out on the living room floor.

When Debbie woke up a few hours later in the hospital, all she could see around her were shadowy figures waving their hands in front her face and pointing at her as if to mock her for her actions. She started screaming uncontrollably.

The Doctors had her committed to the local psychiatric hospital where she remains to this day.

It was reported that a few weeks later, she somehow obtained and concealed a plastic spoon into her room, she then proceeded gouge her own eyes out with it.

The Emergency team stated that she was unresponsive but conscious - repeatedly muttering the words "They're touching me..."

The Collection of John Hunter.

Some people collect coins, some people collect supermarket club card points. Scottish Surgeon John Hunter, born in 1728, collected foetuses and body parts, both Human and animal and preserved them in jars. John Hunter was one of the most distinguished scientists and surgeons of his day. He was an early advocate of careful observation and scientific method in medicine. He was a teacher of, and collaborator with, Edward Jenner, pioneer of the smallpox vaccine. He was fanatical about teaching others in anatomy and taught in privet medical schools. When the students were short on Cadavers, Hunter sometimes would use shady methods and underworld contacts to obtain bodies, and he is alleged to have paid for the stolen body of Charles Byrne, (curiosity or freak in London in the 1780s) and proceeded to study and exhibit it against the deceased's explicit wishes. Hunter was also fascinated with and researched Venereal diseases and sometimes used his own body to experiment on. He once injected his penis with puss from a prostitute’s genital sore and gave himself syphilis. His patients, although trusted him, also feared that they would end up as his exhibits if he failed to cured them. If you want to see his exhibits, They are at The Hunterian Museum at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, in London.

Vladimir's Two Headed Dog.

In 1959 Soviet scientist Vladimir Demikhov created a living, breathing, two-headed dog. He and a couple of helpers sedated both dogs, The smaller dog's body was severed just below the ribcage tying off the dog's blood vessels as they went. The bigger dog had an incision made at the base of her neck exposing her vital blood vessels. The scientists then slowly began to join the two dog's blood vessels together. The surgery was a success and both dogs survived their disturbing ordeal and could move around independent of each other. Both dogs died four days after the surgery. As cruel and fucked up as this experiment was, Demikhov's work did accomplished some good. He was the first person to successfully transplant hearts and lungs in animals which paved the way for human organ transplants.

Cotard Delusion.

Cotard delusion is a rare Mental Illness where the sufferer has delusions that they are dead and walking amongst the living and decomposing like zombies or have lost their blood and internal organs but in 59% of cases, sufferers believe that they are immortal. Symptoms include, denial of ones own existence, denial of a certain body part or a portion of their body, along with psychotic depression. Lack of personal hygiene and physical health withdraws the afflicted person from other people. The delusions prevent the sufferer from making sense of external reality which then produces a distorted view of the external world around them. This disorder, (although rare) is mostly present in people who suffer from schizophrenia. Other causes could be due to significant brain damage to the cerebral hemisphere frontal lobe. Sounds absolutely terrifying.

Whitechapel’s Dead Body Train.

abandoned-tunnel.jpg

According to London Underground folklore, There was a secret train that operated during the early 1900’s that ran through the underground tunnel at whitechapel. The train collected the dead from The Royal London hospital, then delivered them to a secret place where nobody knows, even to this day. The Tunnel is now bricked up. Other claims suggest, that there was an underground tunnel that linked to a secret morgue at Whitechapel Station but has since been sealed up. Victorian and Edwardian London was rife with poverty and disease, so much so that the hospitals were overflowing with cadavers. Because of this knowledge, a body train and an underground temporary morgue is extremely plausible. There is a rumour that years ago, empty rooms under the ticket hall at Whitechapel were also sometimes used as a morgue.

Coincidental Twin Tragedy.

27654838_1589461634507616_5842431939485762098_n.jpg

In 1975 a 17 year old boy was killed while riding his moped. He was killed exactly a year after his 17 year old brother was killed while riding the same moped, in the same intersection, by the same taxi, with the same driver, carrying the same passenger.

Possible Explanation

The Bermuda Islands Also know as The Somers Isles, has limited land mass, and its capital Hamilton is spread over a small area off about 173 acres, having a living population of 1,800 in 2010. This means, in 1974, the number of people living in the area of the accidents could be a lot less, and the number of cabs in the area, and the people who used them would be even smaller. In that case it wouldn’t be much of a coincidence that two Brothers lived in the same area and that one has inherited the moped of his Brother. So the probability that the two Brothers would get hit by the same cab, carrying the same passenger, in the same street would not be that small. Still a tragic interesting coincidence nonetheless.

The Ghost Tower, Bangkok Thailand.

Sathorn Unique Tower also known as The Ghost Tower is an unfinished abandoned skyscraper in Bangkok's Sathon District. The building was built in 1990. It was planned as a 47-storey luxury condominium tower with 600 units but due to the lack of funds and other unfortunate events, including the architect being brought up on murder plotting charges. The Tower stands unfinished to this day. Despite being officially off-limits to the public, the building has become well known as an urban exploration destination. Numerous ghost tales have surfaced over the years with some locals believing the building to be cursed and whoever enters it will also be cursed, as the land upon which it sits is said to be a former graveyard. In December 2014, the body of a Swedish man was found hanged on the 43rd floor. The cause of death was determined as suicide. The building is still popular with international tourists but criminal charges of trespassing will be given to those attempting to enter. This is due to safety issues. The building is now used as a giant advertising billboard.

Gef The Talking Mongoose

On the Isle Of Man in September of 1931, The Irving Family were enjoying their evening home cooked meal when they heard weird scratching sounds coming from within their walls. At first they thought it might have been rats but over time the scratching became louder and more frequent, then one day they started hearing a voice coming form inside the walls. The voice introduced itself to family as Gef, a talking mongoose born in 1852 in New Delhi India. According to the family, Gef was the size of a small rat with Yellowish fur and a big bushy tail. Gef also told the family that he was an earthbound spirit, a ghost in the form of a mongoose. Gef and the family became very close. Gef looked out for the family letting them know when someone was approaching the house. He also used to put out the fire in the fireplace because the Irving’s used to forget sometimes. Over time Gef became part of the family. The media heard about Gef and the press went crazy for the story of “The Talking Mongoose” Then the public became interested and visited the Irving house in hopes to catch a glimpse of Gef. After years of investigating, there was no evidence of Gef’s existence but the investigators also didn’t think the Irving family were making it up. Apparently, Laurie, the young Irving daughter was said to make weird noises within the walls to fool the investigators. Also, the walls on the house were very hollow making it easy to play pranks on the family. Many people believed that Laurie was in fact the talking mongoose all along. Some people however suggested that James, the head of the family who had a split personality could of been Gef. Journalists were still writing stories about Gef years later saying it was hoax. The stories faded over time and was forgotten by most until it was picked up by the media again after it was claimed that, nearby residence to the Irving house had also heard Gef’s voice while spying on the family. The Irving’s moved out in 1945 and the new owner said that he caught and killed Gef, but he told the press that Gef was black and white, not yellow. Laurie went to her death bed insisting that Gef was real.

Deadman's Island (Kent)

Deadman's Island is a small island in the estuary of the River Medway in Kent, United Kingdom
The island consists of mudbanks and is uninhabited apart from the nesting and breeding birds that live there.
What gives this island its macabre name is it’s dark history.
The island has many spooky Legends that talk of headless skeletons and red-eyed devil dogs.
In 2016 the remains of more than 200 humans were found on the island. It is believed that the remains are those of men and boys who died of disease on board prison hulks, floating prisons that were moored in the area around 200 years ago.
Originally the bodies were buried in wooden coffins under six feet of mud but coastal erosion and rising sea levels washed away the mud to expose the remains at low tides.
The island is completely out of bounds to the public. Although professional Journalists are sometimes allowed to visit after receiving permission from the leaseholder, as long as it’s not during bird breeding season.
