Death Road.

Located in Bolivia, The North Yungas road that connects the Bolivian capital of La Paz with the low-lying region of Yungas in the Amazonian rainforest, is also known as Death Road and is dubbed the worlds deadliest. The road seldom gets any wider than 3 meters with cliffs that drop 2,000 feet. Driving up or down this 43-mile switchback is extremely perilous due to fog and landslides, and a shear drop on one side that runs the length of the entire route with more than 200 tight narrow corners. The Road is above cloud level which often causes visibility issues. Before 1994 approximately 300 people a year would lose their lives on the road. It’s not uncommon to see vehicles in front or behind you to go plunging over the edge, usually as a result of other drivers trying to overtake one another. Road rage is also a major problem as drivers get inpatient and pressure other drivers to go faster. There’s been cases of people ramming their Vehicles into other cars, forcing them over the edge. The most infamous accident on the road happened on July 24th 1983 when a bus reared over the edge killing 100 people. The government of Bolivia is trying to improve safety, but construction is costly and slow due to harsh conditions. The northernmost section of the original road has been replaced by an alternative route with a modern and much safer two-lane motorway. Today, the deaths are mostly local workers and backpackers still using the infamous road. If you’re a thrill seeker, tour operators lead bike rides along the road, but it is believed that more than a dozen cyclists have lost their lives there the last decade.

Altamura Man

This individual was discovered in 1993 entombed in limestone in a cave in Altamura, Italy. Using DNA extracted from the bones sticking out from the limestone, researchers have found he was a Neanderthal who fell down a sinkhole around 150,000 years ago. He is thought to have starved to death after falling and badly injuring himself. Over thousands of years, the body decayed and the bones gradually became incorporated into the stalactites left behind by water dribbling down the cave walls. The DNA is apparently the oldest to ever be extracted from a Neanderthal.

Things that happen to you during strangulation.

💀Strangulation is a form of asphyxiation where someone or something compresses the airways and blood vessels of the neck. This prevents blood from reaching the brain and air from entering the lungs. Strangulation is extremely painful 98% of the time...

💀You may cause yourself injury because you'll be thrashing around while you’re struggling to breath...

💀Small red dots and streaks appear in the whites of your eyes before they become bloodshot due to leaking from your ruptured capillaries. Also your eyelids droop and your vision becomes blurred...

💀Your face droops and tiny red dots appear on your face, Also your face becomes congested with fluid and appears swollen...

💀You experience excruciating chest pain as your chest tightens and you struggle to take in a breath. This is when panic sets in and you feel a sense of impending doom...

💀You hear a loud ringing or buzzing sound in your ears. Small red spots appear on your earlobes...

💀your tongue gets forced out of your mouth and may swell. You’ll also experience a sour taste...

💀Your head feels like it’s about to explode...

💀Your arteries can tear making it possible for blood to enter the arterial wall. Layers of the wall continue splitting, which can lead to a stroke...

💀You may experience cardiac arrhythmia
This happens when pressure is applied to the carotid artery nerve ganglion. When you press hard enough on the carotid arteries, your heart will fall out of rhythm sending you it into cardiac arrest...

💀You lose all control of your bowels and bladder and deification and urination occur...

💀If a stroke or heart attack doesn't kill you, You’ll start to feel like you’re drunk then you become unconscious and eventually die...

💀If you survive strangulation, you may experience hoarseness, dizziness, vomiting, memory loss, headaches, and in some cases brain damage from lack of oxygen to brain… Just don’t get strangled ok ?

The Resurfaced Dead Of The Ganges River.

The Ganges River is regarded as a holy river by Hindus. Many ceremonies are held on it’s banks. Not all families can afford a proper cremation or burial for their loved ones, leaving them no choice but to dump them directly into the river. On 14 January 2015, more than 1 hundred bodies were found washed up in the shallows of the Ganges River in Unnao district. The bodies, which were mostly of children and unmarried girls, were first noticed by the villagers when crows and dogs were feeding on them. The bodies were retrieved from the river and samples were taken for forensic DNA profiling, as, according to officials, post-mortems were not possible. One of the explanations given by the officials was that since the river had changed its course due to the construction of a new barrage, the water level became lower and the bodies resurfaced. The discovery of so many bodies in the Ganges, sparked renewed concerns about the health of the river. The bodies were later reburied on the banks.

The Death of Hisashi Ouchi ⚠️WARNING DISTURBING CONTENT ⚠️

Hisashi Ouchi was a 35 years old technician who worked at a nuclear facility. owned by the Japanese Nuclear Fuel Conversion Company, known as Tokaimura. On September 30, 1999. Hisashi was exposed to the highest amount of radiation any human has ever been exposed to in documented history.  Hisashi and two of his coworkers were pouring aqueous uranyl nitrate solution from a bucket into a precipitation tank. As Hisashi was pouring the seventh bucket, a loud bang and a bright blue light came from the tank. The tank had reached a critical stage and released neutron beams and intense gamma radiation into the room. Hisashi was standing directly over the tank when it exploded and he was exposed to 17 sieverts of radiation. Exposure to 8 sieverts is fatal. The area was evacuated but Hisashi immediately started vomiting and experienced pain and breathing difficulties before losing consciousness. This was the first criticality accident to happen in japan and as a result Hisashi became a living experiment. Hisashi was air lifted to the National Institute of Radiological Sciences and was put in a private room. A week went by with no visible external damage apart from having red eyes and a swollen painful hand. He seemed quite well and was even joking around and talking to the nurses about getting better and going home. The Doctors did a micrograph of his bone marrow and discovered that his chromosomes were destroyed and his white blood cell count was completely depleted. His internal organs sustained massive damage. Soon after, his skin began falling off and the flesh underneath also began to deteriorate. He was put into a coma for a short time when his symptoms became too painful for him. His skin and flesh blistered and began to fall off in front of the doctors and his internal organs failed. He lost almost all of his body fluids in a single day, and more had to be pumped into him along with a blood transfusions. He was resuscitated 3 times despite begging for his suffering to end. He was then transferred to the University of Tokyo Hospital and underwent the world’s first transfusion of peripheral stem cells. Before losing consciousness Hisashi managed to say, “I can’t take it any more… I am not a guinea pig.” - but the doctors kept treating him to keep him alive. On November 27, Hisashi’s heart failed for 70 minutes, but the doctors kept him alive with blood transfusions and various drugs to keep his blood pressure and pulse stable. On December 21, his heart failed and the doctors did not resuscitate because his family wanted him to finally have a peaceful death. After an agonising 83 days, doctors allowed Hisashi to die. Following His death, physicians were criticised for their treatment of him. It was believed that he was kept alive so that the effects of radiation poisoning on a human body could be observed. His quality of life was not a concern.
